Press Release - RUN FOR LOVE
Melies Kish is doing this not to see how far she can personally push herself… She is doing this in service of those impacted through Love Wins Now.
Raising the necessary funds to aid in the mission they started. Love Wins Now being the bridge between donors and those in need, they strive to give hope, love and opportunity through support, resources and educational programs to the orphans and homeless children of the nations.
This race will fuel their education funding, the 1st installment of 3 for the building of a 6 bedroom orphanage home that will house 24 children, and help with the travel expenses coming up in November.
In Uganda, many children drop out of school because their parents cannot afford the rising tuition costs. State and private schools are charging more money, and families struggle to keep up. This is a problem because education is vital for a child's future. Getting a good job and providing for themselves will be difficult without an education.
The government of East Africa says that all children should be able to attend primary and secondary school for free. However, the educational system (public and private) is far from free. It is starving families of life, driving them to desperation every term to be able to offer their kids an opportunity for a better future. For those children without families, schooling is not a possibility. That is something that Melies Kish wants to change for the children at Love Never Fails and a few families in Northwest Kampala, the Kikandwa sub-county, Mityana district by attempting a 24-Hour Ultra Run fundraiser on Oct 22nd, 2022.
With the proceeds from the Ultra Run race, Kish and her organization, Love Wins Now, will give hope, love, and opportunity through support, resources, and educational programs to the orphans and street kids of this Ugandan community.
From the outcome of this run fundraiser, Love Wins Now plans to fuel their education funding, the 1st installment of 3 for building a six-bedroom orphanage home that will house 24 children, and help with the travel expenses for Kish coming up in November 2022.
Last year, they raised funds not only to help purchase the land Love Never Fails owns, raised funds for the school fees required for all three semesters for 14 children and raised enough money to drill for water. While in Kampala in November, Melies will talk with the village about the following steps to their water initiative. Once she returns to the states, they will set up individual sponsorship opportunities for the 2023 school year. Photos and videos will be captured there, and the following major plans will be revealed.
